Non Emergency Medical Transportation Silver Lining in Fuel Price Increases

by admin

How much did you pay for your last fill up in the gas station?  The current average price for fuel is roughly at .95 per gallon.  Depending on the specific company you are buying from, this can be higher or lower.  But the bottom line is you’ve spent more today that a few days back. Every body is clamoring for the government to do something about this but to this day, there are no significant changes in terms of fuel prices.  Without a doubt, this is a very serious matter that is affecting everyone’s lives.

Although there are many problems associated with the fuel increase, the non-emergency medical transport (NEMT) service industry looks beyond the problems and into the potentials.  That may sound odd as there might not be any good in the increased fuel cost.

Non-Emergency Medical Transportation: A Special Kind Of Service

by admin

There is a specific type of service specially designed for people who require special needs, wheelchair or stretcher transportation with medical supervision but not an emergency one.  This service is called Non-Emergency Medical Transport Service or NEMT Service.  In essence, it takes two very different services and fuses them into one.

First, the transportation needs of people are a basic concern.  As such many companies have come up with transportation and rental services with various routes.  People who need to get from point A to point B often put their trust on private transport services.  The second service that is included in the NEMT is medical in nature.  Having someone medically trained with you is an advantage.  However, not every one is actually certified by medical associations.  Now, taking these two together creates a very special type of transport service designed for people with special transportation needs.
